Absurdist Lyrics

Puzzle 2: Classic Rock II

Difficulty:
Fun:
(based on 20 votes)

Ann Mary Weird, Absurdist Lyricist, is really just a plagiarist. She took the first verses of two songs by one well-known band and split them into chunks of three, four or five words. Then she selected fragments, alternating between the two original verses, until she compiled a "new" verse. Can you identify the original songs and the original classic rock band - without resorting to a search engine?

One says she's rising up through the road, tryin' to stop for the night
A friend of mine saw a shimmering mind
Four that wanna light
My head wanna stone me on a dark desert highway
I've got seven in the distance
I loosen my load
