Contrary to popular belief, Martian genetics are quite similar to Earthling genetics. Like us, Martians have two genders, male (XY) and female (XX). Like us, they are diploid, meaning they have two copies of each autosomal chromosome, and each parent passes on one copy, or allele, to its offspring.
